FQAS 2011 Special Session on Fuzzy Databases and Applications.

Special session on "Fuzzy Databases and Applications" at Flexible Query Answering Systems (FQAS) 2011 which will take place in Ghent, Belgium, October 26th-28th, 2011 (http://fqas2011.ugent.be).

TOPICS:

This special session is aimed to gather researchers on fuzzy databases by providing a forum where to discuss advances of this area (theory and applications) applied to the field of flexible query answering systems.

Particularly, we encourage contributions, although this is not an exhaustive list, on improving existing fuzzy database models and systems (i.e. access mechanisms for fuzzy databases, fuzzy query optimizations, etc.) along with proposals on using fuzzy databases for:

Geographical information systems (GIS).
Temporal databases.
Knowledge representation.
Multimedia databases.
Content based image retrieval.
Complex object representation and retrieval.
Semantic retrieval.
Web systems.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Dates and deadlines will be the same for the special session and FQAS 2011 (http://fqas2011.ugent.be/drupal6/?q=dates). These are the following:

Paper Submission: March 1st, 2011
Notification: May 15th, 2011
Final Paper Due: June 15th, 2011
Conference Date: October 26th-28th, 2011

SUBMISSION:

The submission process will be the same of regular papers for FQAS 2011. Submitted papers must follow the guidelines given at http://fqas2011.ugent.be/drupal6/?q=instructions (LNCS format, max. 12 pages) and should be submitted using the FQAS 2011 website.
