FQAS 2011 Special Session on Fuzzy Databases and Applications.

Special session on "Fuzzy Databases and Applications" at Flexible Query Answering Systems (FQAS) 2011 which will take place in Ghent, Belgium, October 26th-28th, 2011 (http://fqas2011.ugent.be).

This special session is aimed to gather researchers on fuzzy databases by providing a forum where to discuss advances of this area (theory and applications) applied to the field of flexible query answering systems.

Particularly, we encourage contributions, although this is not an exhaustive list, on improving existing fuzzy database models and systems (i.e. access mechanisms for fuzzy databases, fuzzy query optimizations, etc.) along with proposals on using fuzzy databases for:

Geographical information systems (GIS).
Temporal databases.
Knowledge representation.
Multimedia databases.
Content based image retrieval.
Complex object representation and retrieval.
Semantic retrieval.
Web systems.
